The unofficial start of the hunting season rolled around very slow without much action. When the first day of the junior pheasant hunt rolled around,we flushed three birds, but all safely landed about 100 yards away.It wasn't until October 12th when the only pheasant of the year (Hudson's first) fell, thanks to the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club.On the 22 of October,Me and Hudson traveled to Pike county for a deer hunt on the 23rd.In the morning,we set up and saw not a thing until about 10:20a.m.At that time, the boring scene was broken by a dark object moving on our left.A coyote was coming toward us.Hudson drew on the beast and fired, putting a great shot through the vitals. The coyote weighed 30 lbs. and had a great hide which we had tanned. The next day Hudson followed up his great shot on the coyote by missing a 6 point buck.
